In honor of this, have an 818.

There are few inactive teams between us and the 700 ranks.
The #701-800 ranks have a lot of inactive teams as well. I’d think that next Saturday, if we keep up current pace, we’ll be well in to the 600s, but I think some of us will start to pull back on the workloads a bit as the weather warms up. Folding is a much better winter activity!

It is getting a little toasty here in my home office, I will say that.
How do you get stats on teams outside of the top 100? I’ve just been looking at https://stats.foldingathome.org/teams but don’t know how to change the range.

I’ve shut off my CPUs for folding, their contribution was pretty minimal for all that power/heat/noise. 7870 too, because even though it wasn’t really making much heat or noise as far as I can tell, it’s still a 175W card that was taking a day to crunch a 15K work unit.
Going forward with just the 1070 and 5500XT, which were the bulk of my points anyway.

Checking my hardware monitor, it says that my CPU is drawing ~85W at full load and can optimistically return a bit over 30k pts/day whereas my GP can easily do over 600k/day.
I may end up disabling the CPU folding , too. The main reason I’ve been running CPU is that there are some projects/assignments that can really only be done on a CPU, at least from what I’ve read . Not sure why that’s the case or if it’s even true, but maybe CPU folding is best left for people that have Xeons and Threadrippers and such.

I have no clue what all this stuff is about.

I feel like if they were under what they needed for CPU folding, they’d offer a point bonus for that. Which they used to for the “bigadv” Big Advanced special units, which got a 50-20% bonus, but had tight deadlines and required 8 to 24 cores. They ended that though, which suggests they weren’t dying for that sort of CPU horsepower.

I’ll just pause my CPU folding, then, after I complete my current WU.
It’s a ~15k point WU that’s going to take another 6 hours to complete, and it’s already been working for over 7 hours... yeah it’s probably not worth the wattage.
